 /visit/events/691-pintaflores-festival/
LOCATION:San Carlos City
DESCRIPTION:A street dancing festival held every 3 to 5 November\, and one
of the most popular in the region. The dancers paint flowers on their face
s\, arms\, bodies and legs\, in the pintados tradition\, to show gratitude
to people and to their surroundings.\n\nThe name joins two Spanish words\
, pintados\, the painted ones\, and flores\, flowers. It grew in 1992 out
of two older city fiesta events\, the Nabingkalan Tattoo Festival and the
Dances of Flowers. The street dancing ends in a ritual at the city auditor
ium\, where the dancers form a human flower.

SUMMARY:MassKara Festival
URL:https://pinasdex.com/visayas/negros-island/bacolod/visit/events/673-mas
 skara-festival/
LOCATION:Bacolod City
DESCRIPTION:A street festival of masked dancers\, held every year on the fo
urth Sunday of October. The masks give the festival its name: Pista sang M
askara in Hiligaynon. The smiling faces on them are why Bacolod is called
the City of Smiles.\n\nThe city started the festival in 1980\, a year of v
ery low sugar prices and of the sinking of the inter-island vessel MV Don
Juan\, which carried many Negrenses. Dance groups from schools and from ba
rangays parade through the streets and then perform on a stage. For severa
l nights before the highlight weekend\, the Electric MassKara sends dancer
s in neon and LED lights down the Lacson Strip\, one kilometre of band sta
ges\, souvenir stands\, exotic car displays and roadside bars. The other f
estival sites are the Bacolod Public Plaza and the Bacolod City Government
  Center.
