DESCRIPTION:The island's mango festival\, and the reason most visitors come
  in May. It runs the whole month\, and it first ran on 22 May 1993\, the d
 ay Guimaras marks its founding as a province. Locals wear mango-inspired c
 ostumes and build mango-themed floats for a parade that makes its way arou
 nd the island.\n\nStalls sell mango pastries and confectionery\, and plain
  mangoes\, in large quantities. Other events are an agricultural trade fai
 r\, a mango eat-all-you-can\, and a street dancing and cultural competitio
 n. The sweetest variety here is the Guimaras Super\, also called Galila. T
 he season is also when people go out to the mango farms\, such as the Oro 
 Verde Mango Plantation.
