The schoolhouse where Jose Rizal had his first formal lessons, now a museum. Rizal came to Biñan as a child in June 1869 with his brother Paciano, and the two lodged at an aunt's house near the town proper. His teacher here was Maestro Justiniano Aquino Cruz, who had taught Paciano before him, and the boy studied under him for a year and a half.
The school was a small hut that served as the teacher's house as well. Rizal learned Spanish, Latin and painting here, then left in 1871 for the Ateneo de Manila. The museum opened in 2016 and was renovated in 2021. A marker from 1948 stands on the site.
