The oldest parish church in Pampanga, it has a neoclassical façade and a stone brick structure. The church building and belfry that stands today dates back to 1638. It was declared a National Historical Site in 1952, and an Important Cultural Property in 2013. As of 2026, access to the interior is restricted due to renovations and repairs to undo damage caused by a 2019 earthquake.
