Clark Freeport Zone
A large freeport of hotels, casinos, golf courses and resorts, most of it inside Mabalacat and the rest in neighbouring Angeles, where the main gate is. It was Clark Air Base until 1991, when the United States Air Force left. Most of the base is now the civilian Clark International Airport, and the Philippine Air Force holds part of the rest.
The zone was created in 1993 and is run by the state-owned Clark Development Corporation. It reaches past Angeles and Mabalacat into Porac, and into Capas and Bamban in Tarlac, and its anchors are the airport, New Clark City and Clark Global City. Clark hosted events of the 2019 Southeast Asian Games. The city is 93 kilometres from Manila, 10 kilometres from Angeles and 27 kilometres from San Fernando.
