The city's cathedral, built from the ruins of the parish church that the 1955 earthquake destroyed. It is one of the earliest designs of Leandro Locsin, National Artist for Architecture, and his squares, circles and half circles run through the outside and the inside. The facade was altered later.

The choir loft holds the Immaculate Conception Pipe Organ, the only pipe organ in Mindanao. Father Herman Schablitzki, a German priest, designed it and then assembled it in six weeks with one carpenter and one electrician. It was finished on 31 May 1967. The wooden image of the Birhen sa Cotta is kept here.
