Jovito R. Salonga

Jovito Reyes Salonga also called "Ka Jovy," was a Filipino lawyer and politician, as well as a leading opposition leader during the regime of Ferdinand Marcos from the declaration of martial law in 1972 until the People Power Revolution in 1986, which removed Marcos from power. Salonga was then elected as the 14th president of the Senate of the Philippines and the first one after the new Constitution was just ratified, serving from 1987 up to his retirement from politics in 1992.

Si Jovito "Jovy" Reyes Salonga ay isang Pilipinong politiko at abogado, makabayan, at pangunahing pinuno ng oposisyon noong rehimeng Marcos mula 1972, nang maghayag ng Batas militar si Ferdinand Marcos, hanggang noong 1986, nang mapatalsik si Marcos na dulot ng mapayapang pag-aalsa. Si Salonga ang ika-14 na Pangulo ng Senado ng Pilipinas na naglingkod mula 1987 hanggang 1992.
