Capitancillo Island
A small coral island off the coast of Bogo, protected as a marine sanctuary. It is uninhabited and about 600 hectares in size, 6.1 kilometres east of Barangay Odlot in the Camotes Sea. Divers come for three sites: Ormoc Shoal, Núñez Shoal and the southwest wall of the island. The white steel lighthouse tower dates from the 1950s, stands 25 metres high and flashes three white lights every ten seconds, on the site of a light built in 1905.
Boats leave from Polambato Port, Nailon Wharf, Marangog Cove and Odlot Hideaway, and the crossing takes fifteen to 45 minutes. Bring what you need. The island has no store and nowhere to stay.
