Saint Peter the Apostle Church
The oldest church in Camarines Norte, built by Franciscan friars in 1611. Its Spanish name is Parroquia de San Pedro Apostol, and the parish belongs to the Diocese of Daet.
A fire on December 26, 2012 gutted the church and left only the concrete walls. The rebuilt limestone church opened on June 29, 2015, the feast of its patron saint. Inside are floors of machuca tiles fired to the old design, doors and benches of yakal carved with banyan leaves, and ceiling murals and chandeliers that the painter Hermes Alegre gave for free. The pulpit was put back together from wood that survived the fire. Outside, the facade is plain except for the arched door and a niche holding the town patron, with a square bell tower on the left.
