Heritage
Casa Comunidad de Tayabas
A guesthouse built in 1831 for visiting Spanish officials, which later held the town prison and the tribunal. Apolinario Dela Cruz, known as Hermano Pule, was tried in this building and sentenced to death in 1841.
Fire destroyed it in the 1880s. The Americans rebuilt it as a public school, bombing flattened it again in 1945, and the National Historical Institute reconstructed it in the 2000s. It is a national historical landmark today, and it holds the town museum and the municipal library.
