Baliwag Museum and Library
The city museum and library, in the old municipal hall on Cagayan Valley Road, 150 metres from Saint Augustine Church. It opened in 1998 as a museum of natural history and ethnography, and the city runs it as the centre for local history and heritage. It is the official repository for Baliwag and for Bulacan province.
The building is a bahay na bato that belonged to Doctor Joaquin Gonzalez, who kept his clinic inside it. The town bought the house in 1915 and used it as the seat of local government for 65 years. Francisco Guerrero was elected the first municipal president of Baliwag in this house in 1899, in the first local election held in the country, and the library upstairs carries his name. The National Museum of the Philippines declared the old municipal hall an Important Cultural Property in 2015.
