About San Fernando City
Every December San Fernando hangs parol the size of small rooms and lets them compete, which is how a Pampanga city came to be called the Christmas Capital of the Philippines. Come Good Friday the mood changes, and the village of Cutud stages crucifixions that draw crowds and disapproval in equal measure. The rest of the year it is the provincial capital and a very good place to eat.
