Maria Clara (Leonor Rivera-Kipping) House

This house was owned by Leonor Rivera who could have been Mrs. Jose Rizal. They were in a relationship for 11 years. Leonor's mother did not like the rebellious Jose and intercepted the letters of the young lovers. Leonor, convinced by her mother that Jose no longer loved her, reluctantly married the Englishman Henry Kipping. Leonor is said to be the inspiration for Jose Rizal's Maria Clara in "Noli Mi Tangere". The house is not open to the public.
