Church
Santa Maria Church
A brick church on a hill above the town, listed by UNESCO on December 11, 1993 as one of the four Baroque Churches of the Philippines. It was built to work as a fort as well as a church, and the high ground gave the early Spanish administration a lookout over the country around it.
Its formal name is the Minor Basilica and Archdiocesan Shrine of Our Lady of the Assumption. While Vigan Cathedral is under repair, it serves as the pro-cathedral of the Archdiocese of Nueva Segovia.
