Dagupan Cathedral
The seat of the Catholic Archdiocese of Lingayen-Dagupan, on Burgos Street in the city centre. It is dedicated to Saint John the Evangelist, and the National Historical Commission of the Philippines lists it among the heritage sites of the city. The first church here went up in the early 1660s and the Dagupan rebellion of 1660 destroyed it. Father Vicente Iztequi rebuilt it in 1816. The walls are brick and mortar with large buttresses outside, and a traditional belfry stands on one side.
