About Sultan Sa Barongis

Sultan sa Barongis started out as Lambayong, created in 1952 out of Dulawan, the town now called Datu Piang. It was renamed in 1959 after Mantagmama of the House of Talik, grandfather of the guerrilla leader and politician Salipada Pendatun, whose own name is on another town in this province. Population 39,182.
