An underground river that surfaces as a pool of clear blue water, at Barangay Talisay in Hinatuan. Filipino and foreign visitors both know it, and it is the town's main draw.
Cave divers have gone 82 metres down into the spring below the pool. Local stories say engkantos guard the water, and that some of its fish can never be caught. The diplomat Modesto Farolan gave the river its name in a poem, Rio Encantado. Since 2017 the town has kept swimmers out of the main pool and marked a swimming area 10 metres away. The daily fish feeding is at 3 in the afternoon, announced by playing the Hymn of Hinatuan.
