About Misamis Oriental
Most people cross Misamis Oriental rather than stop in it: the ferry to Camiguin leaves from Balingoan on the eastern coast, and the highway inland climbs to Bukidnon. Cagayan de Oro is the capital and the regional centre of Northern Mindanao, governed apart from the province it sits inside. The towns strung along Macajalar Bay are a good deal quieter than the city that speaks for them.
