The town festival of Isulan, held on 30 August for the day the town was founded. It doubles as a harvest thanksgiving: most people here farm rice, corn and vegetables, and the African palm, whose woven kalakat board is known across Mindanao. The dancing comes in two parts. The first shows the work of the farm, the second the merrymaking after a good harvest.
