Jolo Cathedral
The Roman Catholic cathedral of the provincial capital, dedicated to the Virgin Mary under the title Our Lady of Mount Carmel. It is the seat of the Apostolic Vicariate of Jolo. The town stands on the volcanic island of the same name, the main island of Sulu.
A bomb attack during mass in January 2019 killed at least 18 people and injured 82. The church was repaired and reconsecrated in July 2019.
