About Kalawit
Kalawit is one of the younger towns in Zamboanga del Norte, created by Republic Act 6851 in February 1990. It has about 23,381 people in 14 barangays, which keeps it in the smaller half of the province. In Subanen the name is Benwa Kalawit.
