About Zamboanga del Sur
Pagadian, the capital, is built on slopes steep enough that its tricycles have tilted sidecars to keep passengers upright, which is the first thing anybody tells you about the place. The province is Subanen in the uplands and Cebuano speaking on the coast. Zamboanga City, the name everybody attaches to the peninsula, is counted with the province in the statistics and governs itself entirely.
