About Zamboanga Sibugay

Zamboanga Sibugay is the youngest of the three Zamboangas, cut out of Zamboanga del Sur in 2001 as the 79th province of the country. Sibuguey Bay is the middle of everything here, mangrove and fishpond country whose crabs and prawns reach markets well beyond the province. Ipil is the capital and the largest town, and Zamboanga City lies off to the southwest.
