Loboc River cruise
A lunch raft up a green river, with a stop for music from a riverside choir. The boat passes the town centre of Loboc, where the church stands across the highway from the water, and turns upriver towards Busay falls. Other trips run at night to watch fireflies, or for birding, or on a standup paddleboard. Night cruises once had coloured lights along the banks, but the 2013 Bohol earthquake wrecked them.
The Loboc River, also called the Loay, rises in Carmen near the middle of Bohol and runs south to the Bohol Sea. Rain falls evenly through the year here, so the river keeps a steady, high flow. Mountains up to 800 metres ring its drainage basin of about 520 square kilometres.
