About Palapag

Palapag holds the northeastern tip of Samar, where the Philippine Sea comes in from the north and the east. Its position near Cape Espiritu Santo made it a royal port of refuge for the Manila galleons on the run back from Acapulco, and a mission centre besides. It is a coastal town of 34,954 people now, with Laoang to the west.
