Cathedral
Calbayog Cathedral
The seat of the Diocese of Calbayog, also known as Saints Peter and Paul Cathedral and as Our Lady's Nativity Parish. It was the first church in Eastern Visayas to be named a cathedral, in 1913, and the region treats it as its mother church.
Pope Pius X created the diocese by papal bull on 10 April 1910, covering the islands of Samar and Leyte, and Calbayog became its episcopal see. The diocese is now a suffragan of the Archdiocese of Palo.
