About Bayawan City

Bayawan went by New Tolong until 1952 and only became a city in December 2000, which makes it new by charter and old by everything else. It sits on the south-western coast of Negros Oriental, a long drive from Dumaguete, with farmland and fishing grounds around it and about 126,700 people, second in the province only to the capital.
