Lazi has the strongest claim on Siquijor to a visit that has nothing to do with folk healing. Its church is on the tentative list for UNESCO World Heritage status, as part of an extension to the Baroque Churches of the Philippines, and some scholars want the old centre of Lazi nominated on its own. The town is 32 kilometres from the provincial capital.
