Bugui Point Lighthouse

A historic lighthouse on Bugui Point, at the northern tip of Masbate Island. Its light marks the channel between Burias Island and Masbate Island, and the channel between Burias and Ticao that leads to the San Bernardino Strait.

Work started in October 1893 and stopped when the Philippine Revolution began in 1896. The American colonial government took up lighthouse construction again after the Philippine-American War, and the light was first lit on 1 December 1902.
