About Region IV-A (CALABARZON)
Calabarzon is where Manila goes at weekends: Tagaytay for the view down into the Taal crater, the Batangas coast for the diving, Laguna for hot springs and buko pie. The acronym is doing a lot of work, covering Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon. With 16.9 million people it is the most populous region in the country, and Lucban up in Quezon covers its houses in coloured rice wafers every May for Pahiyas.
