Rizal Monument, Calamba
A statue of Jose Rizal 6.7 metres tall, at the centre of The Plaza, a park of 6.7 hectares across from the Calamba City Hall complex on Bacnotan Road. Jonas Roces sculpted it, and President Benigno Aquino III unveiled it on June 19, 2011, for the 150th anniversary of Rizal's birth.
The height stands for the 22 languages and dialects Rizal used, and the statue rests on a podium of 15 steps. People called it the tallest Rizal monument in the world until a taller one, also by Roces, went up in Santa Cruz, Laguna, for the 2014 Palarong Pambansa.
