The city's waterfall, 21.5 metres high and 25.8 metres wide, set in a protected landscape of the same name. The name comes from a story of a church bell (taktak) that villagers threw (hinulog) into the falls because they found it too loud. It was once a popular summer destination, and a typhoon wrecked it.
Pollution from the 1960s made the river unsafe for swimming, and an oil spill closed the park in 2015. It reopened in February 2020 with hanging bridges and a climbing wall, and a pool nearby serves swimmers. Taktak Road reaches the falls, about 1.7 kilometres from the Antipolo Cathedral. Republic Act 6964 made the falls a national park in 1990, and Proclamation 412 turned the area into a protected landscape ten years later. The Department of Environment and Natural Resources runs the site with the Rizal provincial government.
