Every May, walkers climb through the night from Manila up to the shrine of Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage in Antipolo, and the stalls at the top sell suman and cashews to whoever makes it. The capital of Rizal is also the most populous city in Calabarzon and the largest anywhere still classed as a component city, spread over hills at the eastern edge of the metro.
