Island
Lubang Island
The largest of the seven islands in the Lubang Group, off the northwest tip of Mindoro and 117 kilometres southwest of Manila. The group sits on its own, away from any larger landmass, which makes its wildlife both unusual and at risk.
The island is split between two municipalities. The main settlement is the town of Lubang in the northwest, about 11 kilometres from Tilik Port. The southeast belongs to Looc, which runs a second port at Barangay Agkawayan. Calatagan in Batangas lies about 40 kilometres east across the water.
