Marikina Church
A diocesan shrine to Nuestra Señora de los Desamparados, Our Lady of the Abandoned, and the oldest church in the Marikina Valley, built in 1572. Its image of the Madonna and Child is venerated as miraculous and has a pontifical decree of coronation. The parish holds the longest Holy Week processions in Metro Manila, with about 87 floats as of 2023, behind only two parishes in Bulacan. The city is under the Diocese of Antipolo, and the Augustinians reached the valley in the late 16th century, before the Jesuits came in 1630.
