Parañaque Cathedral
One of the oldest Catholic churches in the country, set up by the Spanish Augustinians on May 11, 1580. It is the seat of the Diocese of Parañaque, which covers Parañaque, Las Piñas and Muntinlupa, and it is also the Diocesan Shrine of Nuestra Señora del Buen Suceso.
Fray Diego de Espiñar was the first minister of the town, which the Augustinians accepted as an independent pueblo on the same day in 1580. The image the shrine is named for, Nuestra Señora del Buen Suceso de Palanyag, came to La Huerta on August 10, 1625, and is the third oldest Marian image in the Philippines.
