Museo del Galeón
A maritime museum about the galleon trade between Manila and Acapulco, with a full-size galleon built inside it. It stands in the SM Mall of Asia complex and opened to the public on May 1, 2026.
The ship is a copy of the Espíritu Santo, a galleon built in 1603 for the Manila to Acapulco trade, and visitors walk its decks. It is 40 metres long and 30 metres high. Around the dome above it runs the Sea of Lights, an LED display of seascapes, storms and constellations. The building has four storeys and about 9,000 square metres of exhibition space. Two of the four galleries were open on the first day, one on the sea routes of the archipelago before the Spanish came and one on the Magellan expedition. The rest is due in October 2026.
