About Cotabato City
Cotabato City is not in Cotabato province, which catches people out every time. What visitors come for is the Grand Mosque, the largest in the country, gold domed and visible from a long way off. Since the Bangsamoro Organic Law the city has been the seat of BARMM, and it answers to no province, not even Maguindanao del Norte, where it geographically sits.
