About Region XI (Davao Region)
This is durian country, and the region has a long habit of reminding everyone else about it. The Davao Region wraps around the Davao Gulf: five provinces all called Davao something, plus Davao City, one of the largest cities in the world by land area. Mount Apo, the highest mountain in the Philippines, stands on its western edge, and the Philippine eagle is bred in the foothills below it.
