Cave
Ayub Cave
The cave where the Maitum jars were found: earthenware burial jars shaped like people, with full or partial faces. A National Museum team dug here in 1991 and again in 2008. The team leader, Eusebio Dizon, said jars of this kind have not turned up anywhere else in Southeast Asia, and archaeologists from across the region came to look and to dig.
The cave is in Barangay Pinol. A second cave in the same town, Sagel Cave, also held jars and is a declared national historical site.
