Zamboanga City is the one place in the country where you hear Chavacano on the street, a Spanish creole that has held on here for centuries, and where satti is a normal breakfast. The peninsula holds Zamboanga del Norte, Zamboanga del Sur, Zamboanga Sibugay and Sulu. Pagadian is the regional centre on paper. Zamboanga City is where the trade and the money actually are.
