Capul Island Lighthouse
The light that marks the western entrance to the San Bernardino Strait for ships coming in from Ticao Pass. It stands on Titoog Point, at the northern tip of Capul Island.
Guillermo Brockman drew the design in 1892: a cylindrical tower with a pavilion and machinery. Work started in October 1893 under Francisco Perez Muñoz and stopped in November 1896 at the onset of the Philippine Revolution, but the light first burned a month later, with the station still part built. The pavilion was finished in the American period. Northern Samar made it a provincial historical landmark in October 2008, together with the Batag Island Lighthouse.
