Capitol Park and Lagoon

A lagoon with a park around it, in the middle of the city. Matching sculptures stand at the two ends of the water: a woman beside a water buffalo at the north end, and a man pulling another water buffalo at the south. The Italian sculptor Francesco Riccardo Monti made the figures, with Guillermo Tolentino. Monti also made the sculptures at the Metropolitan Manila Theater and at the University of the Philippines Visayas campus in Iloilo.
People buy popcorn and pop rice from the stalls in the park and feed the fish in the lagoon.
