About Isabela
Emilio Aguinaldo's flight from the Americans ended at Palanan on the Pacific coast of Isabela in 1901, which is about as far from anywhere as the country gets. The rest of the province is the rice and corn granary of Luzon, flat valley floor through the middle and rolling ground at the edges. Ilagan is the capital of what is, by land area, the second largest province in the country.
