About Paete
Paete carves wood, and the name comes from paet, the Tagalog word for chisel. The town sits on the shore of Laguna de Bay, and the Franciscan friars Juan de Plasencia and Diego de Oropesa founded its parish in 1580. Around 25,250 people live across its nine barangays.
