Session Road
The main street, lined with bakeries and bookshops. It closes to cars on Sundays and fills with stalls and buskers. The road runs 1.7 kilometres through the middle of the city, six lanes wide, and on open days it carries part of the national highway network.
The lower half, from Magsaysay Avenue by the plaza up to Governor Pack Road, is the business core: banks, restaurants, hotels, newsstands and boutiques. The upper half climbs past the foot of Luneta Hill to the rotunda that turns off towards Camp John Hay and Kennon Road. The name comes from the old Baden-Powell Hall that the road once led up to, where the Philippine Commission sat from April to June 1904 and made Baguio the summer capital. A marker at the Baden-Powell Inn, beside the bus terminals on Governor Pack Road, is the only sign left of it.
