About Bacolor
Lahar from the 1991 Pinatubo eruption buried Bacolor, and the old church still sits with its floor well below the current ground level. The town was also the birthplace of Anselmo Jorge de Fajardo, who wrote a Kapampangan comedy in 1831 and gets called the father of Kapampangan literature. Around 59,000 people live here.
