Tayug is farm country in eastern Pangasinan, commercial crops with livestock and poultry alongside, 45,476 people in 21 barangays. In 1931 peasant rebels known as Colorums attacked the town and held it briefly, one of the rural risings that ran through Luzon between the wars.
