About National Capital Region (NCR)
Metro Manila is not a city. It is 16 cities and one stubborn municipality stitched into the capital region, 14 million people on 636 square kilometres, wedged between Manila Bay and Laguna de Bay. Only Calabarzon holds more people, and few urban areas anywhere are more crowded. Everything national happens here first, including the traffic.
