Bonifacio Monument
A 13.7-metre memorial to Andres Bonifacio, who founded the Katipunan and led the revolt against Spain. It stands on the roundabout where EDSA, MacArthur Highway, Samson Road and Rizal Avenue Extension meet, and the whole area around it is called Monumento.
National Artist Guillermo Tolentino made the sculptures, and the obelisk went up in 1933. The monument marks the first battle of the Philippine Revolution, fought on August 3, 1896. Its symbolic figures are known as the Cry of Balintawak.
